One Man’s Quest to Squash Trash Effectively!
Squash-it was founded 20+ years ago by Mort who saw a need .. and has worked tirelessly ever since to spread the word about Squash-it!
How It All Began
Mort was at one of his favorite restaurants and was surprised to see a long line when he went to the restroom. The reason for the long line? An employee had used his foot to crush down overflowing trash and because of the design of the trash unit, his foot got stuck.
20 minutes and 3 firemen later, the employee was cut free from the receptacle. Thus, began the early days of Squash-it, as Mort saw a need and was determined to design a better tool to compact trash.
Within 6 months, Mort had a prototype and started testing his new manual trash compactor at local restaurants. Over the years, Mort continued to refine the design and come up with 4 optimal sizes to fit the majority of businesses trash needs.
